Watertown Man Convicted of Aggravated Assault After Quick Jury Deliberation

Northeast News SD - Watertown, SD - A Codington County jury has convicted Brady Pederson, 45, of aggravated assault following a jury trial on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The jury deliberated for just about 21 minutes before returning the guilty verdict.
The charge stems from an altercation in October 2024, which resulted in the victim losing consciousness at times. The victim was able to crawl to a neighbor's house to get help.
Aggravated assault is a Class 3 felony in South Dakota. The Watertown Police Department investigated the case. Attorney Jennifer Goldammer represented Brady Pederson, while Alison Bakken represented the State. The case was presided over by Judge Elshere.
Sentencing is scheduled for Pederson on Wednesday, October 8, at 1:15 p.m., pending the completion of a presentence investigation report.
