Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - Watertown Regional Airport (ATY) is kicking off the new year on an upward trajectory, reporting a 7% increase in passenger enplanements for January 2026 compared to the same month last year.
Despite January and February typically being the slowest months for the aviation industry nationwide, ATY recorded 946 passengers on board in January and 1,000 in February. The travel was split between the airport’s two major hubs:
· 433 passengers flew to Denver.
· 513 passengers flew to Minneapolis–St. Paul.
The airport staff and city officials thanked the local travelers who chose to fly domestically during the mid-winter season. This growth follows a busy period for the airport, which recently saw contract adjustments related to the Ag Spray hangar and taxiway project as part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
