2nd Street NE in Watertown Closing for Airstay Hotel Construction Starting Week of July 13

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - — The City of Watertown Public Works Department has announced a temporary street closure on 2nd Street NE as construction resumes on the new Airstay hotel project.
According to the city’s public service announcement, work at the hotel construction site will restart during the week of July 13, requiring 2nd Street NE to be closed from 1st Avenue NE to approximately mid‑block. The closure will remain in place until further notice as crews continue building the new hospitality development.
The PSA states: “2nd Street NE will be closed from 1st Avenue NE to approximately mid-block until further notice.”
City officials are asking drivers to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and stay alert for changing traffic patterns near the construction zone. Additional adjustments may occur as the project progresses.
The Public Works Department thanked residents for their patience as the Airstay hotel moves forward, noting that the improvements will support continued development in the area.
