Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to Shooters Bar and Grill, located at the corner of Maple Street and Kemp Avenue, at approximately 4 p.m. yesterday, following a report of a commercial kitchen fire.

Upon arrival, fire crews found that a deep fryer fire in the kitchen had already been extinguished by the restaurant's automatic fire suppression system. The fire was contained to the fryer unit and prevented from spreading to other parts of the building due to the proper function of the hood suppression system.

No injuries were reported, as all staff and patrons safely evacuated the premises before the fire department arrived. Firefighters confirmed the fire was fully out, ventilated the structure, and checked for any potential fire extension or re-ignition.

Watertown Fire Rescue reminds commercial kitchen operators of the importance of regularly inspecting and maintaining their fire suppression systems, as well as ensuring that staff are trained in emergency procedures.
