Brookings County Sheriff Investigates Hay Field Damage Near 215th Street and 468th Avenue
Northeast Radio SD News – Brookings, SD - The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of intentional damage to a hay field after an unknown vehicle drove off the roadway and repeatedly tore through the property.
Deputies were dispatched on September 19 at 5:35 p.m. to a field located on 215th Street near 468th Avenue, where the landowner reported significant destruction. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect vehicle entered the wet field and:
“was used to severely damage the hay by spinning the tires and repeatedly driving over a large area.”
The total amount of damage is still being assessed. Authorities say the incident remains under active investigation.
