Codington Connects to Host “Splash Into Summer” Family Kick‑Off Event May 28

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Codington Connects is inviting families to celebrate the start of summer at its second annual “Splash Into Summer: Summer Kick Off” event on Thursday, May 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Foundation Plaza in downtown Watertown.
The free, family-friendly evening highlights the wide network of local organizations that offer summer fun, activities, and entertainment for Codington County families. Visitors can enjoy coloring projects, bean‑bag toss, yard games, flower planting, chalk art, a dunk tank, and more.
Free supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. (while supplies last) thanks to a generous donation from Reliabank. Visit Watertown will provide refreshments, and Velocity Entertainment will keep the music going throughout the evening.
More than 55 local nonprofit organizations, all members of Codington Connects, will set up booths around the plaza where families can play games, win prizes, and learn about community resources available throughout the summer and year-round.

Founded in 2023 by the Codington County Social Services Advisory Council, Codington Connects works to build a collaborative system of care across agencies, families, and individuals to improve social services for residents of Codington County.
