Codington County Maintenance Honored with Gold and Platinum Safety Awards

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - At this year’s County Convention Safety Awards Luncheon, the Codington County Maintenance Department was recognized with both the Gold and Platinum Safety Awards for its outstanding commitment to workplace safety and employee training.

The awards are presented annually to county departments that demonstrate proactive measures to improve safety standards, reduce risk, and provide practical training for both staff and the public they serve.

Commissioners formally acknowledged the achievement during Tuesday’s meeting, with a motion and a second to approve the recognition. “Congratulations, Steve,” one commissioner noted, applauding the department’s leadership and dedication to Facilities Manager Steve Molengraaf.

The dual awards reflect a year of focused effort by the maintenance team to enhance protocols, invest in training, and maintain a safe working environment across county operations.
