County Signs Updated Risk-Management Alliance Contract

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Codington County Commissioners have formally updated their Intergovernmental Contract (IGC) with the South Dakota Public Assurance Alliance (SDPAA). This member-owned risk pool protects more than 400 local government entities against liability and property loss.

The updates, while largely administrative, clarify the alliance's governing structure.

Auditor Brenda Hanten characterized the changes as “just textual” adjustments to the bylaws. The primary update to Article V “serves to clarify that no member shall have more than one representative serving on the board at any one time”.

Additional reformatting of Article IX moved a paragraph regarding notice rescission to the top of the section for clarity, a change Hanten confirmed “does not change or alter the prior version’s language nor intent”.
