Glacial Lakes Energy Donates $25,000 to Deuel Community Playground Project

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Deuel Community Playground Project reached a major milestone this week as Glacial Lakes Energy LLC announced a $25,000 donation, becoming the project’s first official Dream Builder Sponsor. The contribution marks one of the largest single gifts to date toward building a new, fully accessible playground at Deuel School.
In a statement shared Friday, Glacial Lakes Energy said it was honored to support a project designed to benefit families across the Clear Lake area.
“Giving back to the communities where we live and work is part of who we are at Glacial Lakes Energy,” said CEO Jim Seurer. “We believe strong communities start with opportunities for kids.”
Project leaders say the donation provides a significant boost as fundraising continues for the new playground, which is designed to serve children of all abilities and create a shared space for both the school and the wider community.
Board Chairman Mark Schmidt called the gift transformational.
“This playground will provide a safe place for children to play, learn, and build friendships while creating a space the entire community can enjoy for years to come,” Schmidt said. “We’re proud to support a project that will make a lasting impact on the Clear Lake community.”
The Deuel Community Playground Project thanked Glacial Lakes Energy for “investing in the future of Clear Lake and Deuel School,” noting that the donation not only moves the project closer to its fundraising goal but also encourages others to join in supporting the effort.
Fundraising for the playground continues as organizers work toward building a space where “all abilities can play, friendships will grow, and kids will simply get to be kids.”
