Senator Stephanie Sauder Announces Re-election Bid for District 4

Northeast Radio SD News – Bryant, SD - State Senator Stephanie Sauder has officially announced her candidacy for re-election to the South Dakota State Senate, seeking to continue representing District 4 in the northeastern region of the state.
Sauder, a resident of rural Bryant, was first elected to the Senate in 2022. Her legislative career began with a term in the House of Representatives, where she served on the Education, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Veterans and Military Affairs committees.
Legislative Record and Committee Assignments:
During her tenure in the Senate, Sauder has held several key positions, including:
· Vice-chair of the Senate Transportation Committee.
· Member of the Senate Education Committee.
· Appointee to the 100th Legislative Session Commemoration and the Extraordinary Cost Fund to Special Education committees.
Sauder’s legislative focus has largely centered on public and technical education, agriculture, and healthcare services for rural communities and the elderly. As a prime sponsor for various bills, she has advocated for protections for children and senior citizens.
Professional and Personal Background
Sauder draws on a diverse professional background, citing her experience as a former public educator, a small business owner, and a generational farmer. Outside of the legislature, she serves on the ITC board of directors and is active in several local organizations, including her church and the Parkview and Bryant Legion auxiliaries.
“To me, serving in the legislature is about helping people and listening to them as they express their concerns,” Sauder stated in her announcement. “Doing the research and homework comes next to make thoughtful and meaningful decisions.”

District 4 covers a significant portion of northeastern South Dakota, encompassing Clark, Hamlin, Deuel, Grant, and rural Codington counties, as well as part of Roberts County.
