South Dakota Seniors Awarded Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarships

Northeast Radio SD News - Sisseton, SD - Five exceptional high school seniors from across South Dakota have been selected as recipients of the prestigious Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial State Scholarship for 2025.


The scholarship is awarded to enrolled members of federally recognized American Indian tribes who demonstrate strong personal character, cultural involvement, leadership, and a clear vision for their future educational and career goals.


The 2025 Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarship recipients are:

·        Scarlett Renville (Sisseton)

·        Ethan Phelps (Rapid City)

·        Kyra Perkins (Rapid City)

·        Cole Ducheneaux (Timber Lake)

·        August Bartels (Winner)


The program provides financial assistance for up to four years of postsecondary education at an accredited university, college, or technical institute located in South Dakota.


The scholarship amounts increase annually, starting with a minimum of $1,000 for each of the first two years, $1,500 for the third year, and $2,500 for the fourth year of attendance. The awards are intended to support students as they pursue their educational goals.
