Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Weather permitting, construction is set to begin Tuesday, August 25, on the 2026 Park and Recreation Improvements—14th Ave NE Bike Trail Project, according to a public service announcement from the City of Watertown Engineering Division.

The project includes a full reconstruction of the Eastwoods Trail along 14th Avenue NE, stretching from 19th Street NE to approximately 200 feet past 22nd Street NE. Work is scheduled to continue through October 2, pending weather and any unforeseen issues.

City officials say the project will primarily impact residents who regularly use this portion of the Eastwoods Trail. During construction, equipment will occasionally be present on the roadway, and motorists are urged to use caution, follow all posted traffic control devices, and obey flaggers in the work zone.

Residences and businesses along the corridor will remain accessible most of the time, but the city is asking motorists not to park on the street within active work areas.
