Watertown Fire Rescue Extinguishes Garage Fire on 1st Street NW; Vehicle Totaled, No Injuries Reported

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue extinguished a fully engulfed garage fire Tuesday morning in the 900 block of 1st Street NW, declaring both the structure and a vehicle parked in the driveway a total loss.


Crews were dispatched on July 22 and arrived to find an unattached garage engulfed in flames, with fire spreading to the vehicle outside. Firefighters worked quickly to knock down the blaze and prevent it from reaching nearby homes. No injuries were reported among residents or responding personnel.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Watertown Fire Rescue reminds residents to store flammable materials properly and maintain clear space around garages and outbuildings to reduce fire risk.
