Watertown Fire Rescue Quickly Extinguishes Propane Grill Fire Near Home on 33rd Street NW

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue responded Monday evening to a propane grill fire in the 1200 block of 33rd Street NW, arriving within minutes to prevent the flames from spreading to a nearby home.

According to a media release from Watertown Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched at 5:37 p.m. after receiving a report of a grill on fire. Units from Battalion 1, Engine 3, Engine 4, and Medic 3 responded to the scene.

Firefighters found the grill burning in proximity to the residence. Crews quickly extinguished the flames and moved the grill to a safer location away from the structure. No injuries were reported.

Personnel remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes to ensure the area was safe and the fire was fully out.

Watertown Fire Rescue reminds residents to keep grills a safe distance from homes and structures, and to monitor them closely while in use.
