Watertown High School Announces 2026 Arrow Days Royalty Nominees and Homecoming Schedule

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown High School began its 2026 “Arrow Days” activities this week. The school announced the 2026 Homecoming Day Royalty nominees on Thursday, and the nominees hosted a pep rally at Watertown Middle School on Friday morning.

Seniors submitted their royalty nominations by email during their advisory period on Monday, September 21. The student body nominated the following seniors for this year’s Arrow Days Royalty:

· Guardian of Gold: Olivia Dettmann, Abigail Kruger, Alayna Smith, and Sianna Stanton

· Protector of Purple: Lukas Brandlee, Max Martinson, Lennon McIntosh, and Owen Muller

· Champion of Arrows: Andrew Dahl, Hunter Peterson, and Kutler Swenson

The royalty announcement begins a week and a half of Arrow Days activities for Watertown High School students and the community.

Next week’s daily dress-up themes begin with PJ or Camo Day on Monday, September 28. That day, the student body will vote for the final royalty winners through an all-school ballot during the advisory period.

The official crowning will take place at the “Legend of the Arrows” event Monday at 7:00 PM at the Arena. Admission to the coronation is $3.00, or $2.00 with the purchase of an Arrow Days button. After the ceremony, high school students may attend the free “Legend After Party” at Legends from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Students will also participate in door decorating, Powder Puff football practices, and home sports matchups, including a volleyball game against Yankton on Tuesday evening.

Traditional homecoming events scheduled later in the week include:

· Thursday, October 1: The annual Powder Puff Football Game kicks off at 7:00 PM ($3.00 Admission or Free with a button), followed immediately by the Pep Rally and the traditional “Burning of the ‘W’” at 7:45 PM.

· Friday, October 2: Students will deck out for “Purple & Gold Day.” The afternoon features the Homecoming Parade at 2:00 PM, leading up to the main event:

o the Arrow Football Game against the Mitchell Kernels at 7:00 PM at Allen Mitchell Field.

· The week wraps up with the WHS Homecoming Dance from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
