Watertown School Board Approves Lake Area Tech Nursing Lease for Pierre Capital City Campus

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown School Board on Monday approved its annual facility lease agreement for Lake Area Technical College’s nursing cohort located at Capital City Campus in Pierre.

Under Item 6.2 — Property, LATC administrators presented the updated lease, which covers classroom space, storage, a simulation lab, and office space used by faculty members who support the Pierre‑based nursing cohort.

The lease amount for the 2026–27 year increases to $16,646.82.

“This is our annual lease agreement with Capital City Campus, the site of one of our nursing cohorts out in Pierre,” said LATC President Tiffany Sanderson. “The lease agreement increases this year to $16,646.82. That includes our classroom, storage, simulation lab, and office space for our faculty members.”

The board approved the agreement unanimously:

No questions or comments were raised before the vote.

The Capital City Campus partnership allows Lake Area Tech to continue offering nursing education in central South Dakota, supporting workforce needs in the Pierre region.
