Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Visit Watertown and Cornerstone Church are partnering to host a free customer service workshop titled "Unreasonable Hospitality" on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2026, at Cornerstone Church, located at 1350 11th St. NE in Watertown.

Previously held a few years ago at Joy Ranch, the workshop is returning by request to serve Watertown-area businesses, community organizations, frontline staff, and volunteers. While there is no cost to attend, pre-registration is required.

Workshop Schedule and Optional Session

The Tuesday morning event is structured into two segments at Cornerstone Church:

·         General Session (9:30 to 11 a.m.): Open to all area business owners, office and retail team members, frontline employees, and community organization volunteers.

Applying the Principles of "Unreasonable Hospitality"

Led by speaker Julie Stevenson, the interactive presentation draws on the principles of Will Guidara’s bestselling book, Unreasonable Hospitality: The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect.

During the session, Stevenson will examine how going beyond standard expectations can turn routine interactions into memorable experiences. Attendees will explore practical ways to apply hospitality concepts across retail, office, and volunteer settings by:

·         Anticipating the needs of customers, guests, and coworkers before they ask.

·         Paying close attention to small, everyday details that leave lasting impressions.

·         Personalizing interactions and creating meaningful moments that strengthen relationships and elevate community service.

Stevenson is a strategic communications professional with more than 30 years of experience assisting organizations in building trust, engaging stakeholders, and communicating complex information. Her presentation is designed to equip local teams and volunteers with practical tools they can implement immediately within their workplaces and organizations.
