Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) says the bridge on 14th Avenue Northwest over the Big Sioux River is scheduled to reopen to traffic at approximately 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
The bridge replacement project began in November 2025 and was originally slated for completion in July. SDDOT officials say the work is wrapping up ahead of schedule, restoring a key east‑west connection for northwest Watertown.
The project carries a total cost of $2 million, with Grangaard Construction Inc. of Watertown serving as the prime contractor.
SDDOT reminds motorists to remain alert for workers and equipment as final cleanup and site restoration continue in the area.
