15-Year-Old Estelline Driver Hospitalized After Single-Vehicle Crash West of Estelline

Northeast Radio SD News – Estelline, SD - A 15‑year‑old Estelline driver was transported to the hospital Friday evening after a single‑vehicle crash west of Estelline, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at 7:35 p.m. on August 14 along 466th Avenue near 197th Street. First responders from the Sheriff’s Office, Estelline Ambulance, and a South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks conservation officer arrived to find the driver, Hadley Warns, injured inside a 2006 Buick Lucerne.
Investigators say the vehicle was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and entered a ditch. The car then re‑entered the roadway before coming to rest in the opposite ditch. Warns was evaluated on scene for unknown injuries and later transported to Brookings Hospital for further care.
The Buick sustained an estimated $2,750 in damage. The Sheriff’s Office says the crash remains under investigation.
