19-Year-Old Faces Multiple Charges After Weapons and Drug Seizure

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A 19-year-old Watertown resident is in custody following an investigation into a stolen firearm that led police to a collection of weapons and narcotics.


On March 12, 2026, the Watertown Police Department arrested Hunter Boyle after executing a search warrant at his residence in the northeast part of the city. The investigation began just one day prior, on March 11, when officers received a report that a firearm had been stolen from a vehicle within the city.


During the search of Boyle’s home, officers successfully recovered the stolen pistol, which was found loaded with ammunition. However, the search yielded more than just the missing weapon. According to the media release, officers also discovered evidence consistent with the possession and distribution of controlled substances. Items seized included:


·         Marijuana (under 2 ounces)

·         THC vape cartridges

·         Various drug paraphernalia

Boyle was transported to the Codington County Detention Center, where he faces a litany of charges:


·         Grand Theft of a Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Firearm

·         Possession of a Controlled Substance

·         Providing a Firearm to a Known Former Violent Offender

·         Resisting Arrest and Intentional Damage to Property


Boyle’s bond has been set at $1,000 cash.
