Alexandria Man Killed in Fatal SD 42 Rollover Crash Southwest of Alexandria

Northeast Radio SD News – Alexandria, SD - Authorities say an Alexandria man was killed Friday night in a single‑vehicle crash about ten miles southwest of Alexandria.
According to preliminary information from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at 8:05 p.m. Friday, September 11, on SD 42 near mile marker 311. A 2005 Dodge Dakota pulling a trailer loaded with lumber lost control while descending a hill, entered the north ditch, rolled, and separated from the trailer.
The 59‑year‑old passenger was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. The 31‑year‑old driver, also from Alexandria, was taken to a Mitchell hospital with minor injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate. All information released so far is preliminary. The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
