Authorities Release Names in Fatal Roberts County Crash

Northeast Radio SD News – Roberts County, SD - The South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS) has released the names of the individuals involved in the fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred one mile east of Claire City on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Kasey Lee Stickland, a 27-year-old male from Lidgerwood, North Dakota, was identified as the driver who sustained fatal injuries in the incident.

The passenger, 28-year-old Garret Devon Kriz of Claire City, South Dakota, received serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:48 p.m. near the intersection of 105th Street and 456th Avenue. Preliminary information indicates Stickland was driving a 1992 GMC Sierra eastbound when he lost control, causing the vehicle to enter the ditch and roll.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash. Officials state that the information released remains preliminary.
