Brookings County Sheriff Investigates Theft of $500 Solar Panel Near 207th Street

Northeast Radio SD News – Brookings County, SD - The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a Gallagher-brand solar panel used to power an electric fence along 207th Street near 487th Avenue, according to a media release from the department.

Deputies responded on July 11 at 2:57 p.m. after the theft was reported. The panel, valued at $500, was taken sometime between July 5 and July 11 from a fence post at the rural location.

The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information to contact their office at 605‑696‑8300 or submit tips anonymously through Brookings Area Crimestoppers via the mobile app or by calling 605‑692‑7867.

The case remains under investigation.
