BROOKINGS, S.D. — A 52‑year‑old Brookings man has been arrested and charged in connection with a March burglary at Riddle’s Jewelry, where more than $78,000 in diamond rings were reported stolen.
Brookings police responded to a burglary alarm at the store, located at 950 22nd Avenue, around 12:30 a.m. on March 3. Officers arrived to find the front glass entrance shattered. According to investigators, several diamond rings had been taken from the business.
On May 29, police arrested Larry Black of Brookings on charges of third‑degree burglary, aggravated grand theft, and intentional damage to property. Police say all of the stolen diamond rings have been recovered.
