Brookings Man Indicted on 50 Felony Counts of Distributing Child Pornography

Northeast Radio SD News - Brookings, SD - A Brookings man has been indicted on 50 felony counts of Distribution of Child Pornography, South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced.


Mohammad Ghosheh, 24, was indicted by a Brookings County Grand Jury on Monday, September 29. Each of the felony distribution counts carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison.

The alleged crimes are reported to have occurred in Brookings County between October 2024 and February 2025. Ghosheh had previously been charged with one count of Solicitation of a Minor and 50 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.


Attorney General Jackley issued a statement, saying, “These crimes exploit and endanger one of the most vulnerable segments of our population. The Attorney General’s Office will continue to vigorously advocate for our children.”


The investigation is being led by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). The DCI has received assistance from the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the Brookings Police Department. The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case.


The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty under the U.S. Constitution.
