City of Watertown Underway with Lift Station Improvements on South Lake Drive

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown Public Works Department, through its Engineering and Wastewater Division, is currently working on a localized lift station improvement project. The infrastructure upgrades officially commenced on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and are projected to wrap up by Friday, May 22, 2026, pending any unforeseen complications.

The construction zone is located on South Lake Drive, specifically operating near 156 South Lake Drive.

Expected Traffic and Access Disruptions

Motorists and neighborhood residents should plan for minor delays and adjustments to normal routines through the conclusion of the project. The Public Works Department notes the following impacts:

· One-Lane Delays: Traffic will be restricted to one lane along South Lake Drive in the immediate vicinity of the lift station.

· Driveway Restrictions: Property owners near the site will experience temporary periods where direct access to their driveways is limited.

· Street Parking Prohibited: Drivers are asked to keep the designated work areas completely clear of parked vehicles on the street.

· Property Accessibility: Despite the ongoing work, local residences will remain accessible to occupants most of the time.
