Codington County Offices to Close Friday for Funeral of Former Deputy Dave Curtis

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Several Codington County offices will close for two hours on Friday as county employees attend funeral services for longtime courthouse security officer and former deputy Dave Curtis.

According to Codington County Treasurer Carol Maloney, the following offices will be closed Friday, July 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.:

·         Sheriff’s Office

·         Community Services

·         Clerk of Courts

·         Emergency Management

·         Register of Deeds

·         Treasurer

·         Veteran Services

Director of Equalization Office

Normal operations will resume immediately following the service.

Curtis, a respected member of the Codington County Sheriff’s Office and courthouse security team, passed away on July 4. County officials say the temporary closure allows staff to pay their respects to a colleague and friend who served the community for decades.
