Local community and faith leaders are collaborating to host a major two-day conference aimed at bringing awareness, healing, and resources to the growing issue of sexual brokenness and relational dysfunction within the community.

Jo Vitek of Divine Providence of South Dakota and Pastor Mark Tracy of Cornerstone Church announced that Pure Desire Ministries, a national organization, will be in Watertown on January 16th and 17th. The effort is backed by Divine Providence of South Dakota, which is funding the thousands of dollars required to bring the national speakers to the area.

“This is an issue that transcends faith and denomination,” Pastor Tracy noted, highlighting the collaborative nature of the event.

Addressing a Widespread Need

The conference was organized in response to a recognized gap in community resources. Vitek noted that both men and women across all demographics are struggling with issues ranging from the trauma of abuse to addiction and relational difficulties, often finding few resources available through traditional channels.

Studies referenced in the announcement show a significant increase in these issues, affecting intimate relationships and families. The goal is to provide tools and training, including long-term group resources, to help individuals and couples "be the person that God created them to be."
