Northeast Radio SD News – National News - The Department of Justice announced the results of Operation Iron Pursuit, a month-long nationwide crackdown targeting child sex predators and working to rescue young victims. Conducted from April 1 through April 30 during National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the federal operation led to the location of more than 200 child victims and the arrest of over 350 child sexual abuse offenders nationwide.
The massive undertaking involved a synchronized effort across all 56 FBI field offices and U.S. Attorneys’ offices nationwide.
“This operation puts every child predator on notice: we are coming for you,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “The sexual exploitation of minors is an abomination with no place in our society. We will hunt down these offenders, hold them fully accountable under the law, and deliver justice for victims.”
FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized the continuous nature of these efforts, stating that the FBI works 24/7 to dismantle child abuse networks. Patel noted that the operation follows a record-setting previous year in which the FBI and its partners identified and rescued over 6,300 missing children. “Let this be a message to criminal actors who seek to target America’s children: you will be pursued, and you will be brought to justice,” Patel added.
Notable Cases and Recoveries
The individuals arrested during the nationwide sweep face a wide range of federal charges, including sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, abuse, kidnapping, and the possession, distribution, or receipt of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM).
The DOJ highlighted several specific cases from the operation, including:
· A Columbus, Ohio, man who pleaded guilty to cyberstalking exes and creating AI-generated obscene material of adults and children.
· A District of Columbia man charged with producing child pornography.
· A New York man charged with sexually exploiting a child.
· A Pennsylvania man and former felon was charged with sexually exploiting a child and illegally possessing a gun.
The sweep also led to the recovery of a 10-year-old child from Utah who was flown back home from Cuba along with the child’s biological mother. According to officials, the child was supposed to be on a camping trip with a transgender parent, a partner, and another child, but the group instead flew from Canada to Mexico and then to Cuba. Authorities stated that concerns existed that the 10-year-old had been taken to Cuba for gender reassignment surgery.
Local impacts were also felt in regions like South Dakota, where U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons confirmed that four individuals were charged in connection with the operation. Christopher D. Dotson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Minneapolis Division, stated that the arrests have “taken some of the most dangerous child predators off the streets of our communities.”
Ongoing Enforcement and Victim Support
Operation Iron Pursuit is the latest in a series of similar major enforcement operations executed over the past year. The DOJ detailed three previous successful crackdowns:
· Operation Relentless Justice (Concluded December 2025): Resulted in the rescue of 205 children and 293 offender arrests.
· Operation Enduring Justice (Concluded August 2025): Resulted in the rescue of 133 children and 234 offender arrests.
· Operation Restore Justice (Concluded May 2025): Resulted in the rescue of 115 children and 205 offender arrests.
The FBI’s Victim Services Division (VSD) played an active role throughout Operation Iron Pursuit, providing crisis support, stabilization, forensic interviews, and referrals for medical and mental health resources to help victims navigate the aftermath of these crimes.
The Department of Justice reminds the public that an indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
How to Report Suspected Abuse
Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected exploitation of a child through the following channels:
