Early Morning Vehicle Fire Quickly Controlled in Northeast Watertown

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue effectively contained a vehicle fire early Thursday morning in well below zero weather conditions, preventing the flames from spreading to an adjacent structure.


Shortly after 4 a.m. on December 4th, 2025, Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire reported in the 100 block of 8th Street NE. Engine 4’s crew arrived on the scene and promptly began operations to extinguish the blaze.


The response was successful, with crews rapidly putting out the fire and ensuring there was no extension to a nearby garage, demonstrating practical, fast control of the incident.


Watertown Fire Rescue responded with Engine 4 and Medic 4. The Watertown Police Department was also on the scene. Authorities confirmed that no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported during the event.


Fire Rescue personnel were on the scene for approximately 30 minutes to ensure the area was safe and the fire was fully extinguished.
