Fatal Crash in Roberts County Claims One Life, Injures Another

Northeast Radio SD News – Claire City, SD - A single-vehicle crash one mile east of Claire City, South Dakota, on Sunday evening resulted in the death of one man and serious injuries to another.


The incident occurred at approximately 10:48 p.m. on November 23, 2025, near the intersection of 105th Street and 456th Avenue.


Preliminary information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates that a 1992 GMC Sierra, driven by a 27-year-old male from Lidgerwood, North Dakota, was traveling eastbound on 105th Street. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which then entered the ditch and rolled.


The driver sustained fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger, a 28-year-old male from Claire City, South Dakota, received serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Both individuals' names are being withheld pending notification of family members. Seat belt use is currently under investigation for both occupants.


The South Dakota Highway Patrol, an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, is continuing to investigate the crash. All details released at this time are preliminary.
