Fatal Crash Victim Identified in Watertown Collision

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the man fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning, December 2, 2025, in Watertown.


Antonio Davis, Jr., 29, of Oceanside, California, sustained fatal injuries in the crash at the intersection of S. Broadway Street and 20th Avenue SE at approximately 6:32 a.m.

Preliminary crash information indicates that Davis, who was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, was traveling west on 20th Avenue SE when his vehicle crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane. The pickup then collided with an eastbound 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck.


Davis was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.


The driver of the Peterbilt semi, Jerry F. Waldner, 54, of Watertown, was not injured in the collision. Waldner was also wearing a seat belt.


The South Dakota Highway Patrol, an agency of the Department of Public Safety, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. All information released at this time is preliminary.
