Northeast Radio SD News - Henry, SD - A Henry man has been arrested on felony charges after a domestic dispute escalated to include a bow and arrow on Saturday evening, according to a news release from the Codington County Sheriff's Office.
Jeremy Vought, 42, of Henry, was charged with Aggravated Assault Domestic (Felony) and Abuse or Cruelty to a minor (Felony) following the incident.
The event began on October 19, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m. when Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a rural Henry residence for a 911 hang-up call. According to the report, dispatch called back and a female caller stated that she could not speak freely before the call disconnected.
Shortly after, the female victim used the 911 text line to report that a male had shot a bow and arrow through a bedroom door.
Deputies arrived on the scene and secured the area, finding the female victim and a minor child safe and uninjured. The subsequent investigation determined that the female had retreated into the bedroom following an argument. Mr. Vought is alleged to have then used a bow to shoot an arrow into the door of the bedroom.
The minor child was released to the biological mother.
Jeremy Vought is currently being held at the Codington County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash-only bond. The South Dakota Highway Patrol assisted the Sheriff’s Office during the call.
