Northeast Radio SD News – Sioux Falls, SD - Clark native and professional golfer Kim Kaufman is inviting mothers and daughters from across the region to join her for a special “Mother–Daughter Huddle” on Monday, Aug. 10, at Great Shots in Sioux Falls.

The event runs from 1 to 2:45 p.m. and will feature an interactive Q&A session, live demonstrations, and hands‑on instruction from Kaufman, one of South Dakota’s most accomplished golfers.

Registration is open to mothers and daughters of all ages. The cost is $20 total, with all proceeds supporting the Sanford Sports Scholarship Fund, which helps expand access to youth sports opportunities. Space is limited, and participants can register online.

A Return to the Game After Cancer Treatment

Kaufman was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2024 and returned to competition on the Epson Tour in late 2025 after completing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Throughout her battle, she became a vocal advocate for women’s health, even helping organize breast cancer screenings for players at the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship.

A South Dakota Standout

Kaufman remains one of the most decorated high school athletes in state history. She won four state championships at Clark High School before competing at Texas Tech University, where she rose to the No. 1 collegiate golfer in the nation during the fall of 2012.

The Aug. 10 event aims to bring families together, promote women’s health awareness, and inspire the next generation of young athletes.
