Lake Area Tech Boulder Memorial Golf Tournament Set for July 27 in Watertown to Support Student Scholarships

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Golfers will tee off later this month in support of student scholarships as Lake Area Technical College prepares to host the Annual Boulder Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, July 27 at Prairie Winds Golf Club.

The event, organized by the Lake Area Technical College Foundation and Alumni Association, raises funds for Boulder Memorial Scholarships for the 2026–27 academic year. The tournament features two‑person team stroke play using the Tin Whistle scoring format, a system designed to make the event accessible and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.

Tournament Schedule

·         Check‑in: 10:30 a.m.

·         Calcutta: 11:30 a.m.

·         Shotgun start: 12:00 p.m.

Tin Whistle Format

Each golfer plays their own ball and receives two mulligans for the round. Points are awarded per hole:

·         Bogey: 1 point

·         Par: 3 points

·         Birdie: 5 points

·         Eagle: 7 points

·         Double Eagle: 9 points

Teams enter scores through the Golf Genius app, which calculates standings automatically.

Payouts

Gift certificates to the Prairie Winds Pro Shop will be awarded in both Net and Gross divisions:

·         1st Place: $300

·         2nd Place: $225

·         3rd Place: $150

A verified League Handicap card is required at check‑in to qualify for payouts and Calcutta participation. Players without documentation may still compete but will only be eligible for pin prizes.

Registration
