Local Youth Shine at 2026 District 5 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Watertown Middle School gym was bouncing with athletic talent Sunday, February 1, 2026, as the District 5 Knights of Columbus Basketball Free Throw Championship took place.

Ten young athletes emerged as champions after displaying remarkable consistency at the free-throw line. The winners, ages 9 to 14, were celebrated for their performances after the tournament.

The following athletes took home first-place honors in their divisions:

Girls Division:

·        9 Years: Campbell DeBoer

·        10 Years: Shyla Allery

·        11 Years: Rylie Hoffmann

·        12 Years: Dacotah Nowick

Boys Division:

·        9 Years: Hunter Storm

·        10 Years: Jackson Hendricks

·        11 Years: Rudy Stutzman

·        12 Years: Brock Anderson

·        13 Years: Terry Dandurand

·        14 Years: Leo Schumacher

The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is an annual event that provides an athletic outlet for youth while encouraging sportsmanship and healthy competition.
