Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A milk tanker semi caught fire early Tuesday morning on 212th Street near 487th Avenue, prompting response from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office along with fire crews from Elkton and Lake Benton.

Authorities say the fire was reported at 5:52 a.m. involving a 2022 Peterbilt 389 driven by 56‑year‑old Bradley Fairchild of Canby, Minnesota. Fairchild was able to exit the vehicle safely, and no injuries were reported.

Responders found flames coming from the rear passenger tires of the semi pulling a milk tanker trailer. Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze.
