Mosquito Spraying Scheduled Tuesday Night in Watertown (7/7/26)

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown says mosquito spraying will take place Tuesday night, July 7, after adult mosquito counts reached the threshold requiring treatment in several neighborhoods.

According to the Mosquito Control Program, spraying will begin after 9:00 p.m., weather permitting, in the following areas:

· East Lake: East side of Lake Kampeska from Kampeska Lodge to Prairie Winds Golf Club, including Derby Downs and Prairie Haven.

· West Lake: West side of Lake Kampeska from Kampeska Lodge to Prairie Winds Golf Club.

The city notes that while the adulticide used is considered relatively safe, residents should follow basic precautions during spraying:

· Stay indoors while spraying is underway.

· Keep children and pets inside during spraying and for about an hour afterward.

· Rinse homegrown fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating or cooking.

The Mosquito Control Program will continue monitoring mosquito activity throughout the season.
