Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown will conduct mosquito spraying on Wednesday evening, July 1, after officials confirmed that adult mosquito counts have reached the threshold requiring treatment.

According to the city’s Mosquito Control Program, spraying will begin after 9:00 p.m., weather permitting, in Southwest Watertown — specifically the area south of 3rd Avenue North and west of Broadway.

The city notes that while the adulticide used is considered a relatively safe material, residents in the spray zone should follow standard precautions, as individual sensitivity can vary. The PSA advises residents to remain indoors during spraying, keep children and pets inside for about an hour afterward, and rinse homegrown produce before eating.
