Motorcycle-Deer Crash Near Volga Sends Two Brookings Riders to Hospital

Northeast Radio SD News – Brookings County, SD - Two people were taken to the Brookings Emergency Room Friday night after a motorcycle collided with a deer west of Volga, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at 9:10 p.m. on July 17 along 464th Avenue near 205th Street. First responders from the Sheriff’s Office, Volga Fire Department, and Brookings Ambulance arrived to find a 1985 Honda CMX250 that had gone into the ditch after striking a deer.

Deputies say the motorcycle was driven by Anthony White III, 29, of Brookings, who was riding with a passenger. Both were treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says the incident remains under investigation.
