Northeast General Auxiliary Raises $10,870 for Children’s Wheelchairs and Mobility Equipment
Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Northeast General Auxiliary announced this week that its annual Extravaganza fundraiser at Just 1 More Casino was a major success, raising $10,870 to support children receiving care at the Shrine Clinic in the Twin Cities.
According to the Auxiliary, the funds will be used to purchase wheelchairs and other mobility equipment for children whose families cannot afford these essential items. The group emphasized that insurance coverage often falls short of meeting real‑world needs.
“Insurance companies allow a child one new wheelchair every five years. We all know how fast children grow,” the Auxiliary noted.
The Extravaganza, held last Saturday, drew strong support from individuals and businesses across the region. Organizers expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed, donated, or attended.
A special acknowledgment was given to Bonnie and the staff at Just 1 More Casino, who hosted and supported the event.
“Thanks again to everyone that made this such a success,” the Auxiliary said.
The Northeast General Auxiliary continues its mission of helping children access critical medical equipment, ensuring families facing financial hardship do not go without the mobility tools their children need.
