Northeast Radio SD News – Prairie Lakes Laboratory is expanding its walk‑in, direct access lab testing services, giving community members a faster and more convenient way to monitor their health without needing an appointment or provider referral.
The expanded service allows individuals to request select laboratory tests on their own, offering a simple option for those who want to track ongoing health concerns, gather personal wellness information, or identify potential risks.
“Direct access lab testing provides a simple and convenient option for people who want greater access to their health information,” said Jennifer Sieck, Director of the Prairie Lakes Laboratory. “Whether someone wants to monitor cholesterol levels, check blood sugar, or complete routine wellness testing, this service offers a fast and accessible way to do so.”
Patients can walk into the Prairie Lakes Hospital lab, Specialty Clinic lab, or Northridge lab during regular business hours. After selecting their preferred tests and paying by credit card, lab work is completed during the same visit. Results are delivered securely through Prairie Lakes’ patient portals, MyCareCorner, and Healow.
Prairie Lakes notes that direct access testing is not a replacement for routine medical care. Individuals who receive abnormal results are encouraged to follow up with their primary care provider.
The laboratory continues to focus on improving access to care and supporting community wellness through high‑quality, patient‑centered services.
