Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - Prairie Lakes Healthcare System (PLHS), a division of Sanford Health, has once again been recognized for exceptional performance, earning a spot on Newsweek's America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2026 list. This repeat achievement underscores the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality care and positive patient experiences for the community.

The annual ranking is developed in partnership with Statista, an internationally respected provider of industry data and rankings, and is designed to highlight top-performing hospitals across the country. Only 800 hospitals nationwide achieved high enough scores to be included on the 2026 list.

The comprehensive evaluation methodology for the ranking incorporates four key components:

·         Quality of care and safety measures

·         Reputation among medical professionals

·         Patient experience survey results

·         Use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs)

John Allen, president and CEO of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, expressed gratitude for the recognition. “We are grateful to once again be recognized on Newsweek’s 2026 list alongside other outstanding hospitals in our state,” said Allen. “The daily commitment to excellence from our teams ensures our community receives the safe, high-quality care it deserves.”
