Northeast Radio SD News - Aberdeen, SD - The South Dakota Snow Queen Festival has officially named its junior royalty for 2026, marking the beginning of the statewide event’s annual celebration of character and community.

Junior Royalty and Runners-Up

Emmy Ptacek of Ipswich was crowned the 2026 Junior Snow Queen during Saturday night’s competition. Joining the royal court is Remi Hubsch of Webster, who was named First Runner-Up and also received the Miss Congeniality award. Nevaeh Reitz of the Clark Area was selected as the Second Runner-Up.

In addition to the junior queen titles, the festival announced the 2026 Prince and Princess. This year’s honors were awarded to Adam Fraiser and Vayda Larson.

Completing the Royal Family

The festival is a long-standing South Dakota tradition organized as a nonprofit effort to recognize young women for exemplary character and leadership. The current winners will represent the organization at various community events across the state throughout the coming year.

The 2026 Royal Family will be finalized next week. The coronation for the Senior Snow Queen is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, at 7:00 PM.
