Rebecca Weber Memorial Fund Supports New Recreational Facility at Joy Ranch

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The legacy of local community leader Rebecca “Becky” Weber continues to impact the region through a $5,000 donation to Joy Ranch of South Dakota.


The gift, presented by the Weber family through the Rebecca Weber Memorial Fund at the Watertown Area Community Foundation, will support the construction of a new multi-purpose recreational facility. The fully accessible facility is designed to provide year-round programming for individuals of all ages and abilities.


Planned features for the new space include:


·        Two regulation-size indoor pickleball courts.

·        Versatile equipment for basketball, volleyball, and other sports.

·        Dedicated event space for retreats, camps, and community gatherings.


The facility is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by summer 2026.


Honoring a Legacy of Service

Weber, who was 32 at the time of her passing, was an outstanding figure in Watertown known for her extensive civic engagement. Her history with the Watertown Area Community Foundation began in high school as a member of the Youth Council and continued into adulthood through the Women & Giving Advisory Committee.


In 2024, Weber was recognized as one of Watertown’s “Top 4 Under 40 Leaders. Her contributions to the community were vast, ranging from championing the development of the Kiwanis Splash Pad at Foundation Plaza to serving on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club and EXCITE Watertown.


The Weber family established the memorial fund to ensure her commitment to community betterment remains a permanent fixture in the region.
