Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Terry Redlin Art Center will continue its tradition of honoring military service members by offering a complimentary print to all veterans and active servicemen and servicewomen who visit the center on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The Redlin family offers the gift as a direct token of appreciation for those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. To receive the complimentary print, veterans or service members must visit the Art Center in person and present a valid military identification card.

The Art Center notes that this special offer is available only to those physically able to visit the Watertown location. Prints cannot be mailed or distributed to family members staying on behalf of a veteran or service member who cannot attend.

The tradition of honoring veterans is rooted in the personal experiences of the renowned artist, Terry Redlin. The Art Center highlights Redlin’s connection to the military through his collection of seven paintings titled “An American Portrait.” This series explores the pride and mixed emotions that many Americans experience, including the heartbreak of losing a loved one in service.

One painting in the collection, “His First Good-bye,” captures the emotional moment a young man prepares to leave home to join the military. The artwork conveys the quiet pride of the father, the mother's mixed emotions, and the son's commitment to serving his country. The collection collectively serves as a testament to the sacrifices made by military families.
