Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign in Watertown has started strong, with early donations bringing the effort to 16% of its ambitious fundraising goal.
They posted on November 26th that, as of November 20th, the campaign had raised $40,061 toward its 2023 target of $244,000. This positive start provides an optimistic outlook for meeting the needs of local families throughout the holiday season and beyond.
"We’re off to a great start, Watertown!" the local Salvation Army chapter announced in a recent update. "Every dollar helps provide hope and support to local families in need this holiday season."
The Red Kettle Campaign is a critical effort for the organization, as the funds collected directly support various programs and services for individuals and families facing hardship within the community. The Watertown chapter is encouraging residents to help maintain this initial momentum and "fill that thermometer" by contributing in the coming weeks.
Community members have several ways to support the Salvation Army in its goal to reach $244,000:
·       Drop Off Donations: Contributions can be placed directly into a Red Kettle located at various storefronts across Watertown.
·       Give Online: Donations are accepted through the campaign's dedicated website at watertownredkettle.org.
·       Volunteer Time: Individuals are also encouraged to volunteer to ring the bells, a crucial component of the campaign, by signing up at registertoring.com.
The organization emphasized that reaching the goal is a collective community effort that can significantly "change lives in our community."
