SDGFP Seeks Public Aid Following Wanton Waste of Pheasants Near Clark

Northeast Radio SD News - Clark, SD - The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (SDGFP) is asking the public for assistance regarding a recent incident of improper disposal and “wanton waste” of pheasant carcasses discovered in the Clark area.
Wildlife Conservation Officer (WCO) Zach Thomsen responded to a report approximately two miles east and one mile north of Clark, South Dakota. The investigation led to the discovery of 20 uncleaned rooster pheasant carcasses that had been discarded in a roadside ditch.
This act is classified as both littering and wanton waste, which are violations under state hunting regulations. South Dakota law explicitly prohibits the wanton waste or destruction of protected birds, animals, and fish.
Authorities believe the incident occurred sometime between December 1 and December 4.
