Battalion 1, Engine 4, Engine 3, Medic 4, and Medic 3 were dispatched to the scene.
When crews arrived, smoke was visible coming from the large commercial facility.
Firefighters made an immediate interior attack, knocking down the fire at its point of origin. A secondary crew conducted a primary search of the building after plant workers reported that all employees had evacuated. The search confirmed that everyone was safely out and accounted for.
Following the initial knockdown, crews checked for fire extension into nearby machinery. Significant smoke filled the structure, requiring roughly 90 minutes of ventilation before conditions were stabilized. Fire personnel remained on scene for about two hours.
One plant worker was evaluated and transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital for undisclosed reasons.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
