Watertown 14th Avenue Chip Seal Work Continues Between Highway 81 and 19th Street

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Chip seal improvements along 14th Avenue are moving forward as city crews continue work between Highway 81 and 19th Street, according to a public service announcement issued Tuesday.
Crews swept the roadway earlier today to clear loose rock left from the chip seal process. Temporary pavement markers have now been installed to guide drivers until permanent lane striping is completed. The city says striping should be finished within the next two weeks.
The roadway will remain open throughout the remainder of the project, but motorists are urged to slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone. “Drivers should slow down and use caution around crews and equipment,” the PSA states.
City officials remind residents that while chip seal work can leave temporary loose gravel and reduced visibility of lane markings, the improvements help extend pavement life and reduce long‑term maintenance costs.
